Civics Use pictures and words to demonstrate understanding of laws/rules and why they are necessary.
History Put cards in order to show the cycle of the seasons and label them.

Mathematical Problem-Solving and Written Communication: Perimeter and Area Solve a multi-step problem which requires application of the concepts of perimeter and/or area.
Circuits - Conductors and Insulators Construct a circuit using a D-cell battery a small electric motor two wires and a switch; test an assortment of “mystery objects” on an open circuit to determine whether the object is a conductor or insulator.
Social Studies - Civics Explain the purpose of classroom rules and develop a poster to explain the playground rules to a younger student.
Economics Use a Venn diagram and label the diagram with the given titles and place given words and phrases in the correct spaces of the diagram.
Geography Given an outline of Washington State, identify 20 of 25 geographical attributes.
History Read and discuss information about selected eras and events in Washington State history; group information in chronological order on a timeline.

Report and Demonstration of Static Electricity effects (8th Gr.) Present a report on electric charge and static electricity which includes a synopsis of essential background information (models, laws, theory and hypothesis) and a demonstration of static electricity/electric charge effects.
Current Events Reading Sequence (9th Gr.) Use various graphic organizers successfully to analyze current event articles representing different journalistic styles.



Writing
Conduct, Evaluate and Explain Scientific Investigations (6th Gr.) Learn the process of how experiments are conducted and documented; choose and conduct an experiment and write a scientific report using the proper format.
Explaining Sound (9th Gr.) Write an expository magazine article for Scholastic Science magazine explaining the properties of sound.
Geography and Economics (6th Gr.) Locate the key ideas in an article and write a paragraph that organizes the information with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
Persuasive Letter to the Editor (10th Gr.) Use the information from three graphs to read the data and restate information in paragraph form.
