Arts 7
Course Abstract
The main components of Language Arts 7 are writing, reading,
and communication. Writing focuses on the 6-traits (ideas, organization,
voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions) and the expository
and persuasive modes. Reading includes the study of nonfiction texts,
short stories, novels, and poetry. Communication includes working
effectively in a group and presenting ideas to an audience.
Unit One - The Six Traits of Writing
1) analyze texts for ideas, organization, voice, word choice,
sentence fluency, and conventions 2)incorporate the six traits
of writing into own writing [taught concurrently with unit three
and continued throughout the course]

Unit Three - Nonfiction
