Pre-Algebra
Course Abstract
Pre-Algebra includes data analysis and presentation;
operations on rational and irrational numbers; using formulas and
functions; writing and solving polynomial equations and inequalities;
applying ratios and proportions to problem solving, finding the
area, surface area and volume of geometric shapes; exploring similar,
congruent, and transformed figures; graphing on the coordinate grid;
using counting principles and calculating probability of events;
applying problem solving skills.
Unit One - Operations Using Integers
Evaluate expressions using rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying
and dividing integers and order of operations; locate points on
the coordinate grid; and graph and analyze solutions of two-variable
equation

Identify similar and congruent figures; state rules for congruent
triangles; use relationships in right triangles to find indirect

Unit Three - Transformations
Reflect, rotate, translate, and dilate figures in the coordinate
