Course Abstract
6th Grade Math includes interpreting algebraic information
through graphs; using variables; solving decimal equations; working
with number theory facts and fractions and solving equations; identifying
numerical relationships within polygons; graphing equations on a
coordinate plane; solving proportions; finding surface area and
geometric area; and relating probability formulas and area formulas.
Unit One - Graphing and Understanding Statistics
Read and evaluate different types of graphs; identify misleading
relationships on a graph; identify trends on a scatterplot; organize
and display data; and calculate mean, median, and mode.
- EALR's:
- Math:
1.4 understand and apply the concepts and procedures from probability
and statistics.
4.1 gather information
4.2 organize and interpret information
4.3 represent and share information
Unit Two - Probability
Find the probability of an event; calculate probability from
sample data and geometric models; make tree diagrams; and determine
fairness based on data.
